Back in the late 1960s, Henry “Sandy” Laughlin, Jr. got together with his business partners to build a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at the Portland International Jetport in Portland, Maine. He wanted to ensure that all private flights that came to Portland were given a warm welcome and offered the best customer service possible. Forty-five years later, Northeast Air has become one of the premier FBOs in New England, with a proud tradition of customer focused service.
We take pride in our ability to make private flight seamless and efficient, each and every time a customer flies in to Portland International Jetport. We know what our customers want: smooth transitions, privacy, fair prices. So we strive to give that to them by focusing on the things that matter most.
We are a family run business.
From the early days when Sandy was running the show, to today when his son Henry keeps things moving, Northeast Air has been a family affair. And it’s not just the Laughlin family that makes things happen at Northeast Air. We consider all of our Team members, our partner companies, and our loyal customers part of the NEA family.
Our Team members are the top in their fields.
We’ve hired the best people in the industry to staff our company. From experienced and well-trained aviation mechanics, to long-time customer service representatives, our Team members are well-equipped to make the entire flight support experience something our customers will never forget.
It’s no surprise that we have the best Team members in Maine.
We’re expanding to meet the high standards our customers demand.
At Northeast Air, we realized that while our customers are happy with our FBO, we could be doing more to make their flight experience a more efficient, more modern, world-class experience. So in July of 2015, we announced that we’re making a huge update to our executive terminal at the Portland International Jetport.
By the summer of 2016, we’ll have a modern, sleek, and spacious new terminal to welcome visitors to Portland, an upgrade that will also expedite flight crews and their passengers through the terminal on their way to and from their planes. Tall ceilings and abundant windows will provide a bright, welcoming environment in the spacious lobby. Our Customer Service Representatives will be behind an easily accessible concierge desk, where they’ll be able to more efficiently serve customer needs. Seating pods will be stationed throughout the waiting area to provide semi-private escapes for passengers waiting for their flights. And of course, the new facility will have an inviting pilot’s lounge, state of the art flight planning kiosks, a conference room, and free wifi.
We want you to feel good about your flight experience.
No matter what, we want you to have the best flight experience possible. Whether you’re a passenger who wants as little friction between you and your destination, or you’re a flight crewmember who needs to turn around quickly or have your aircraft serviced overnight, it’s our job to make sure that happens for you with as little effort as possible. We value your feedback too, and welcome suggestions for improving the Northeast Air experience. We look forward to working with you.
